Athletes' Performance at Raleigh Orthopaedic

Sports Performance Internship

Athletes' Performance (AP) has firmly established itself as the world leader in providing integrated performance training services to youth through elite athletes.  AP has trained many of the elite Champions in Sport: top NFL Draft picks, Super Bowl Champions, NFL All-Pros and veterans, NBA, NHL and MLB All-Stars and veterans, World Cup and Olympic Medalists, as well as thousands of other athletes from many different sports and from all over the globe.

Building upon this tremendous performance training history, Athletes' Performance has partnered with the Triangle’s leading orthopaedic and rehabilitation group – Raleigh Orthopaedic. This partnership combines the assets of both companies to provide advanced speed, performance enhancement and rehabilitative training.

Athletes' Performance at Raleigh Orthopaedic – NC (APNC) is a world-class team of seamlessly integrated specialists dedicated to helping athletes of all sports achieve optimal performance efficiently and ethically.

We are seeking dynamic individuals that bring exceptional skills and abilities to our team, and have a passion for providing outstanding service to our elite clientele.

APNC offers a "hands-on" internship experience for undergraduate and graduate students in any of the physical therapy and exercise/athletic training related fields:

·         exercise sciences: kinesiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology

·         strength & conditioning

·         athletic training

·         physical therapy

Successful candidates gain valuable coaching experience, exposure to advanced training theory, methodology and application, all while working with many different levels and ages of athletes. Students learn a comprehensive approach on how to systematically integrate each aspect of performance enhancement training: speed, strength, power, stamina, agility, regeneration, injury prevention and rehabilitation.

This in an unpaid academic internship.  Work days are Monday - Friday varied hours and include part day Saturday on a rotating schedule.  Hours are subject to change based on time of year and population of athletes in-house.

Our goal is to expose you to different philosophies and ideas and how they are integrated into our methodology and systems of training. We want you to learn how to evaluate the body in a more 3 dimensional format, understanding the entire kinetic chain and prescribing and implementing the best exercises and progressions to meet the individual needs of each athlete. Open your mind about all of the possibilities when training athletes--think outside the box and forget the cookie cutter approach. Daily duties and responsibilities include: facility and weight room maintenance, laundry, equipment set-up and break down, stretching, Juniors Program coaching, assisting the Performance Specialists as needed with various aspects of training and testing, and much more.
